Everyday Café Named a 2022 Black Kitchen Initiative Award Recipient

Everyday Café is pleased to announce that it has been selected by the Lee Initiative and its partners, Southern Restaurants for Racial Justice and Heinz, as a 2022 Black Kitchen Initiative Award Recipient. The award includes funding to support the Café's visibility efforts as well as access to unique, continuing education resources that will better our Staff and our Services to the local community!

The Black Kitchen Initiative seeks to celebrate, uplift and preserve the legacy of Black food by breaking down the barriers that keep Black voices and Black cooking out of the American culinary pantheon. The Initiative was founded in 2020. This year, over $1 million was awarded to a total of 65 Black-owned food businesses chosen from across the country to receive these grants. Everyday Café is the only restaurant in Pennsylvania named to the Initiative.

We are thrilled to be a part of this program and humbled by the opportunities it will bring to work with and learn from other talented owners and food-industry veterans in the Black food space. We hope you will celebrate with us!
